Climate, environment and the need for a new understanding of existence
Guest : Göran Bäckstrand May 15 2011
Climate change cannot be understood in isolation from the myriad other global environmental problems. What is required of individuals, according to this week’s guest on Think Globally Radio, is a new understanding of reality, and of existence itself, in order to realign our way of living in a world where natural limits are becoming ever more clear.
Göran Bäckstrand is a longtime diplomat who has worked for decades with sustainability issues with the Swedish foreign ministry, the Red Cross and the Institute for Future Studies. He is co-author of a recent book, Need for a New Understanding: Responsibility for the Environment, Climate and the Global Space (Behovet av en ny förståelse: Ansvaret för miljön, klimatet och det globala utrymmet), which will be the subject of what promises to be a fascinating studio discussion with Göran Bäckstrand this week on Think Globally Radio.
