Stockholm and the sustainability of cities
Guest : Amy Rader Olsson
Cities are vastly complex entities and crucial for sustainability both locally and globally. Stockholm is often cited as a beacon of progressive environmental policies and a model for aspiring sustainable cities worldwide. Yet in a metropolitan region undergoing major demographic and economic expansion, with enormous infrastructure projects underway, how sustainable is Stockholm in reality?
To investigate further Stockholm’s sustainability credentials and to gain greater understanding on the nexus of the environmental and the urban, Think Globally Radio this week speaks with Amy Rader Olsson, Director of the KTH Centre for a Sustainable Built Environment and co-editor of the new book ‘Sustainable Stockholm: Exploring Urban Sustainability in Europe’s Greenest City’.
