One of the world’s foremost environmental historians, Prof. John McNeill is a principal voice in discussions of the Anthropocene and Great Acceleration. He is a member of the Anthropocene Working Group that next year delivers its recommendation on whether to adopt the Anthropocene as a new geological epoch and, if so, which date is most appropriate to mark its beginning.
