Despite the vastness of the Earths oceans, global fisheries are more fragile than previously thought. Ecolabeling of sustainably caught fish makes the consumer a key actor in encouraging sustainable fishing practices.The Marine Stewardship Council operates at the nexus of science, consumer behaviour, environmental advocacy and the fishing idustry in promoting sustainable fisheries around the world. A major report on the global results of MSC ecolabeling efforts has just been published.
