Corporate engagement on a pathway to a Sustainable 2050
Guest : Robert Horn, Stanford University September 25 2011
Defining sustainability forty years into the future may seem abstract, but without long term vision and near term planning fundamental change will remain out of reach.
Prof. Robert Horn of Stanford University, a pioneer in the field of information mapping, has been involved with the Vision 2050 task force of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Consisting of CEOs and top strategists from 200 of the world’s largest corporations, this project has used backcasting to produce 350 milestones to accomplish over the next 4 decades along 10 pathways (e.g. energy, transportation, governance) as well as 40 “must haves” and 40 “big risks” to look out for along the way.
Join Think Globally Radio this Sunday for Prof. Horn’s outlooks on mapping a sustainable future and insights on working closely with major corporate actors on the pathway to sustainability.
